My Potterton Flamingo 40 is very noisy when it fires up and shuts down. It's as if the pipework is expanding and then contracting. The tapping/knocking noise is very loud. Any ideas as to the cause & possible solution would be appreciated.

Sounds like kettling from the heat exchanger, tryo some boiler silencer in it.... if not...new boiler.
