    There's nothing wrong with a bit of research.... but Google is not your friend. What is annoying is when the researcher thinks they have covered everything, or uses the "I'm an engineer" gambit expecting it to be some magic password or gateway into cheaper prices....

    Unfortunately the OP probably just searched for boilers with a rear flue.

    They are very limited and mostly GlowWorm and a Vokera!

    An installer, provided he is not tied into a boiler maker's installation program like Worcester do, should have a good knowledge of the market place.

    Unfortunately that is usually not the case and most have their favourite.

    I usually tell a customer that I can fit any make of boiler and give a quotation with three alternatives, usually cheap, medium and good.

    so you want to replace a decent boiler with white goods?
    you will be lucky if your new boiler lasts 5-10 years, factor that into your efficiency calculations
