Hi folks, not my boiler but by proxy I can hear it through the wall!

Every few mins I hear the boiler try to start up about 5 times, this can last between a few seconds or usually about 20-30 seconds. This starts about 10pm usually when the heating goes off and lasts all night. Does this sound like a controller issue, not the usual pcb? Wondering whether an EP2 would cure it. The neighbour has mention the zone valve up near the tank doesnt work either.

No, it could be a number of things though.

    Almost certainly not.

Well I think an obvious candidate would be the faulty zone valve.
