Hello;

First Post Here Goes

I have an old house 1930 and am about to remove some wallpaper that we put up a couple of years ago. The wall underneath was stripped back to the plaster.

I now want to paint the wall as opposed to papering so the old plaster needs skimming to get rid of the gouges?

Prior to skimming and or painting does the wall need sealing with PVA if so what mix?

How hard is it to skim or should it be left to a Pro, had a quote of £100.00 (Small Room 8`x 8`).

Many thanks

plastering will take you a long time to learn and for the sake of one room and a £100 get them in.£100 sounds very reasonable so i wouldnt part with a penny till its finished ;)
