Hello all.

At the planning stage of building a new shed as my old one has seen better days and it no longer has the capacity to store all the sh**e 'er indoors keeps 'just in case'.

I am happy with the consrtuction method but I wondered if there is anything (membrane etc.) which can be used to prevent damp whilst still allowing the shed/wood to breathe?

It's for storage so won't be used 'actively'. Therefore there will be no insulation - just the outer skin (shiplap)

However, I was considering 'cladding' the inside and thought there may be something to put on the walls before the internal cladding to reduce dampness.

Any views would be most welcome.

Thanks,

B.

Wrap it in a breather membrane before installing the shiplap cladding.

Technically breather membranes are not waterproof, but for a shed without insulation its good enough.
