Contemplating converting to sealed system on 30kW Kingfisher - I want to fit the PRV and expansion vessel at a distance of 3.5 metres above the boiler, connected by 22mm vertical pipe that tees directly off the 28mm flow pipe just after it comes out from the boiler but before the pump.

Filling loop will be connected to the return.

Is this close enough to the boiler to be 'safe'?

PRV and EV could be anywhere on system, i prefer to fit onreturn than flow.

Does the kingfisher have overheat protection?

I don't think all kingfishers are suitable for sealed systems - have you checked?
If it's suitable then I don't think the distance will be a problem.

Good question...The sealed system setup is advocated in the MI, but I will still RTFM...

Kingfisher has built in overheat stat on flow pipe inside boiler.

MI's suggest EV on flow along with PRV.

Best to stick to MI...
