I have recently installed a new thermostatic shower in my bathroom

the cold feed is at mains pressure with a pressure reducing valve, and the hot is gravity fed from an economy 7 hot water tank.

i'm happy with the water flow and temperature from the shower head, but sometimes (and it's not every time i use the shower) the water starts to pulse, and the pipes shake a little!!

the kitchen and bathroom basin taps are both mixers with cold mains and hot gravity fed inputs. these work perfectly and never cause any knocking. there is no central heating system (economy 7 storage heaters unfortunately)

Any ideas what might be causing this?

thanks in advance!

Hard to diagnose really.

But at a guess, I would consider the thermo. mixer valve. Perhaps it is malfunctioning. I don't know enough about how they work inside, so I cannot say it is the valve definitely.
