Hello all,

The pump has gone on my mates boiler. He has got a new one, a Grundfoss. Does he need to drain the system before he replaces the pump? If not, what is the procedure? I have actually done one of these before, on my own boiler but, for the life of me, I can't remember draining the system.
I remember wrapping clingfilm around the control panel so as not to allow any water to penetrate it, I just don't remember draining the system. Am I right in thinking that once the boiler is isolated and the pump is removed, there is only residual water in it that just needs to carefully removed, hence the use of clingfilm?

Thanks in advance

Peadee

Drain it as the isolating valves to boiler have a tendency to leek when turned back on
