Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me?
Everywhere I look online it says builder should charge between 1k and 1.5k ish for building extensions, finished but not including kitchen or bathroom or vat.
However we are planning a first floor room of about 12m2 and we are getting quoted 2.5k per Sq metre from 2 quotes. It's a relatively simple job and the ground floor has big enough floor joists so I'm not sure why the prices are coming out so high?
Access is easy and both quotes said it was a pretty simple job. Our house is half tile hung so I know that means some extra costs but surely that can't justify the extra here.
Are these people just trying it on?
