Can any one please, please, please explain to me how VW expect anyone to get acccess to the passenger side headlight bulbs on the Golf??? I can get the protective case off but am unable to remove it far enough to get my hand in as its "boxed in" with various pipes and other stuff.

Anyone have any experience of this and knows how to get around the problem??

Cheers, in advance.

I experienced a similar problem with the headlamp bulb on a VW passat. This was on the drivers side where access was easier than the passenger side. The bulb was down in a deep recess where you could only use three fingers, however with a struggle it did come out. There was no chance of getting the new bulb in using fingers. The bulb was built into a plastic casing and it became obvious that a special tool to hold the bulb/case was needed. I used a piece of metal 20mm wide and bent it to form a elongated 'U', distance between flats about 20mm and length of tool about 90mm. Holding bulb with tool it was inserted and turned clockwise to engage. I take it VW will have purpose made bulb holders for this job.
