You have to unscrew the threaded part that is on the rad and screw in the extension in its place, the part you took off the rad is then screwed in to the extension. your original photo shows a different type of rad extension but will still fit.

No. Throw those away! Just unscrew and remove what you already have coming out of your radiator, fit the size of extension you require (they can be cut down), fit a new olive and a new (or your original chrome cap) and then fit your valve. Here's one of mine.
The extensions screw into the radiator (with ptfe tape around them) and then the valves fit onto the smooth end with a nut and an olive.
Edit: I mean the suggested extensions. Not the ones you have - to make them work you have to replace the ferrule that's in the rad with the extension and then put the old ferrule in the end of the extension.

I suppose you could use what you have but I don't think they'll look as neat because you'll have two joins before the valve. I don't think you'll get a 15mm olive over what you have.
Here's a clip showing how to fit the ones I showed you above although that's a telescopic one and not a fixed length one but the fitting principal is the same.

Could do. Just personal opinion of mine, I think it'll look fugly though.
That's what I have on mine in the picture above. What was bad about it in the reviews?
I suppose it's your choice in the end though but what you have is just one half of the extension and you will have to fit whatever rusty piece of ****e you remove from your radiator to that.

Or alter pipework to suit
