Please delete this posting - My computer crashed mid-post so I didn't think it worked first time.
I have a 6 month old Vokera combi boiler which seems to work ok. However, I have 3 radiators (2 downstairs, 1 upstairs) and a towel rail that have stopped working. I've tried bleeding them but only get nice clean water out, and I've checked the thermostatic valves and the pins all move freely.
The hot water runs scalding hot then freezing cold, making for an interesting shower experience! However, it doesn't seem so bad if I put the boiler to "hot water only" setting.
I've a horrible feeling a power-wash is in order but have heard nasty things about the cost of such an exercise.
Does sludge seem like the likely cause of the problem? If so, is a power wash the only answer, or would draining the system and adding a cleaning agent do the job?
Any advice greatly recieved.
