Hi. Am about to buy a Range Cooker for the kitchen (a dual fuel one: gas hob and electric oven). So I did the sensible thing and looked on t'internet, only to find that they vary massively in terms of price.

I'm looking for a modern looking one with a double oven for sub-£1000. The most important thing is that it must be reliable.

Does anyone have any experiences (either good or bad) to mention? Can't really afford a Neff/Bosch/or even Smeg at that price.

I have seen a brand called Baumatic with a few models available. Again, any views? Or would I be buying a pup?

Are there any brands/models anyone could recommend?

Thanks, J.

Havent had good experiences with Baumatic, see if you can get a Flavel/Leisure/Rangemaster for the money-good machine easy for spares

If you have an existing cooker supply, check to make sure the cable rating is correct for your range cooker. Some of them require 10mm cable whereas standard size cookers use 6mm.

Have now narrowed down my choices to either a Smeg or a Brittania duel-fuel range. Never heard of Brittania, and don't Smegs tend to break down a lot? Any views on which of these to opt for in terms of reliability of the brands? Both pretty much have the same functions. Cheers, J
