regulations

I aint no spark but I would imagine the IEEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition and Part P of the building regulations.

IEE REGS 17 bs7671 2008 section 701 page 165 is a good start

Spot on, but theres only two E's in the Institute of Electrical Engineers :P

Section 701 of BS7671:2008 contains the regulations that apply purely to bathrooms, and includes things such as the zones and the equipment that may be installed within them, that isn't to say that the rest of the regs do not apply to bathrooms though, and you need a thorough knowledge of them all before you carry out any work, anywhere.

As well as the IEE Wiring Regulations, if you're in England or Wales then the Building Regulations also apply.

As mentioned the IET (IEE) Wiring Regulations cover electrical works.

The sellers pack due out in 1st December [Scotland only] will require a type 2 survey.

Any recent work will be noticed and the seller will be expected to provide paperwork for electrics or gas stuff done.
No paperwork = seller chasing up contractor, or paying for additional gas / electrical inspections.

If it is a building warrant thing see the links below - these are for the 3 Ayrshire councils.

The above link is from my website. There are also other links to more information, such as the Single Survey Scheme / Sellers Pack.
