Whilst doing a bit of work in the airing cupboard, I've rattled one of the pipes too much and now an old soldering tee joint is weeping a bit.

Does anyone have any advice for repairing the joint without taken it out.

I've got solder and flux to hand.

Thanks in advance.

The original joint was a bodge job. It's difficult to bodge a bodge; you'll have to remove the joint. Probably easier to replace it, but expect one of the pipes to be too short to fit properly. So you ought to fix that too.

Alternatively, let it drip into a small bucket & tell the Mrs to empty it daily...

If it's a "yorkshire" (solder ring) fitting you can't reuse it cos the solder won't flow up past the ring. Compression joint might be easier especially if it's a bit wet.

There's kits available in B&Q etc for repairing burst pipes; i.e. they compression fit into the gap once you've cut the burst section out - why not treat the joint as a burst and put one of these in?

Regards, Graham
