I have a lead lined wooden gutter, and what appears to be a bodge of a lap joint is open and leaking causing the gutter to rot. The lead doesn't appear to.habe any expansion joints or drips.

I assume the only correct way to repair is to lap join and weld a piece if t-pren in. Am I correct or is there an easier method that a diyer could use?

Is it possible to buy a small length (10-15cm) rather than a whole roll?

How much would a roofer or plumber usually charge to do this sort of job?

I guess a plumber would charge £100 - I would because you`ve got work @ height and hot work in situ - so off a ladder with long hoses from my bottles + a bucket of water for dousing  That`ll be a £ton plus scaffold tower hire  . You might find a Travelling Roofer who will do it ;) OR you could get a tube of Lead Sealant for a mastic gun and DIY the overlap off your own ladder - no contest really

No you can't buy flowband in your desired length
You will need a scaffold tower to do the work
The eave will need stripping out as well
Lead mate is not suitable for a lead gutter,it will still leak
Best bet is to ring a local roofing firm that does lead- burning

Not according to the literature  Tell you what - if it does leak I`ll donate the cost of a tube to your chosen charity
