my son has a makita drill that is not working, burning smell by trigger. does anyone know of a repair centre in the midlands/cannock area please.
i have also posted this in tools and materials.

There is a small square capacitor situated in the trigger area of the handle. This may have blown or he may have shorted the windings through 'heavy use' while using a blunt drill bit.
Check your Yellow pages/Google Makita Service Centres.
