I'm trying to get some render patched up before the onslaught of winter and wondered if I could canvas some information to help.

I've got some render on a 1930's place thats between the wood studding outside. It's breaking off at the top and bottom and I'm not sure what the best materials are to do this with.

My plan was:

- Break away loose bits
- Spray/paint some kind of fungacide onto the bits that have been splashed by nearby trees that have little bits of surface mold
- Fill the newly created holes
- do a light skim across the whole panel to cover any join marks
- paint when fully dry with a paint of some kind (masonary I guess)

Looking around there are lots of different types of mixes, chemicales, limes, cements, etc and I'm a little confused about what to use.

The stuff thats there is quite dusty when touched, but it's stable - ie there is are no hollow points and it's firmly fixed aiside from the blown bits.

I've uploaded a picture to the follow album and can supply more if helpful?

Of course, if you can help, I'll put up my finished pictures too, as I know everyone loves to look (laugh) at the outcome.

So, enough dribbling - the questions:

- does my plan sound OK?
- What mix/stuff to make the render?
- do I need the fungicide?
- Why can't I win the lotto so I can pay someone to do this for me?

Cheers in advance.
