Hello,

We are replacing our bay window with like-for-like UPVC (current frame is damaged and we want to upgrade thermal efficiency).

What is the implication of getting a stock size window from a local company (well-rated), vs getting completely made-to-measure? We had a consultaiton with a big company (Anglin) and they seemed to say that the stock sizes will have drafts etc, cause issues with plaster. Is that legitimate, or just a selling tactic? Their prices are double the local company, who have good reviews, but use stock sizes.

Stock size? Go to a local manufacture and get made to measure supplied and installed.

Avoid the big boys like Anglian and Everest, unless you want your pants pulled down with prices.

Is a stock sized bay window even possible?

Nope, too many variables involved like the main one cill angles, seg width, with/without bay adaptors, jacking poles, spring, then basic stuff like overall height/ width, transom drops, openers etc

Needs to be made to measure
