I have a Potterton Puma 100 that I have had no end of trouble with since I moved in. Since almost my first week in this house I have had a low system pressure warning light on the boiler. once I connect up the filling loop and restore pressure everything is fine, for about 1 month.

It has got to the stage now where this is happening at least once a month sometimes more, (usually first thing in the morning when I'm late for work and there is no hot water!!!) Yesterday I noticed the DVC is leaking, probably why the pressure is dropping so often and the screwdriver slot on the control valve on the other end of the loop is very badly chewed up and is very difficult to open or close. I have bought a new filling loop from B&Q but I have no idea how to replace it.

Can someone please tell me how to replace this filling loop without destroying my heating system or flooding the house!

My plumbing skills are limited but I have tools and I'm not afraid to use them if someone tells me what to do with them!!!

Thanks in advance

and then find and fix the leak - copntinuously introducing water will dilute the inhibitor ... you do have inhibitor in the system, don't you ?
