If I was to replace an entire roof on an occupied house, presumably I could shelter the property with some form of scaffolding/tarp arrangement while the work is carried out? Can anyone point me in the direction for an idea of rough comparative costs for a basic perimeter scaffold and one which incorporates a roof shelter, I'm sure a scaffolder once told me they have to do some form of wind calculation for scaffolds with tarp roofs?

Approximately say £500-1000 for normal scaffolding for say 3 months against say £3-5K for a tent, which is what you're talking about.

Entire roof, means purlins, supporting brick piers the lot. Replacing with a steel structure to make a loft room,

I have posted on another thread of yours but hey ho. A regular detached would be about £5k. Yours a wee bit more.
