Hi
I am researching how to replace a leaking 23 yr old double 1280mm x 600mm rad with a 1200mm one. I have found a Stelrad P+ on Discounted Heating which has the required dimensions from wall to pipe centres to match the original connections. My question is :can I use the screwfix union valve tails to take up the 80mm difference as it appears to have a 3/4" valve end fitting where the exisiting is 1/2". Also is it wise to drain and clean the system after replacement and then add inhibitor, I presume I need to get some garden hose to fit on to the drain connections.

Unscrew the tails from your old rad & use them. To make up the 80mm difference fit a 40mm rad extension at each end, you can buy these at plumb center.
