Had a Biava towel rail installed 18 months ago in new bathroom. Last week we had water leaking from one of the valves so tightened it up no problem. On trying to establish why the leak occured I noticed that all four plastic claw type clamps had failed and the radiator was primed to fall off the wall. It looks like the clamps because of brittleness due to heat.

Does anyone have any tips amount draining down a towel radiator apart from shutting down the valves and flooding the bathroom in a contolled manner?

Turn off the valves at both ends and then drain into a roller tray the rad water.

Unscrew the large union nut where the valve meets the rad.

Open the bleed screw to let some air in.
