I currently have a four gallon central heating expansion tank and a 25 gallon hot water feed tank. I'm having an extension built and need to move these tanks to a new loft. Please can someone tell me if I can just use one tank? Also, do I need to have a 25 gallon tank - can I use a smaller tank? And, where is the best place to buy by mail order?

Thanks,
Malcolm.

you could get rid of small expansion tank by converting to unvented heating system at not too much cost ??
hot water feed tank would be a bit more expensive to get rid of as unvented hot water tanks start at about £500 upwards if it was me and your current boiler wasnt that new i would put a combi boiler in ??
definately dont fit smaller than 25 gallon tank though as the norm is 50 ??

You need 2 tanks, unless you decide to put a combi in.

Min size for a tank which supplies a cyl and cold supply is 120 litres (or thereabouts , I can't remember the exact figure).

Screwfix is quite good but do a search :D
