I am intending to replace my existing kitchen lighting with 9 downlights, each down light has a 12v transformer and a 50w lamp, the first light on the cable run from the consumer unit is to a ceiling rose which is 7 metres, it then goes to the first 12v downlighter which has a run of 5 metres, each remaining downlighters have a run of 1 meter apart, the lighting circuit then terminates at the last downlighter. The information on each transformer says:

Electronic transformer for LV halogen lamps
PRI: 240v - 50hz 60va COZ = 0.99
sec: 11.6v-eff Max 4.9A

Would the existing 1.0mm t&e be suitable for the cable run?

If you were using a central transformer and branching off to individual lamps, you'd need rather thicker cable since

450watts / 12volts = 37.5 amps!

This doesn't apply here, but for info.
