Probably a stupid question but the girlfriend has got me thinking it isn't. Is there any issue with running a ring main cable through a cavity wall next to the gas main?

The cables should not physically touch the gas pipe.Ideally the cables should go through their own pipe/conduit.

Bugger, why is she always right?

Is there any reason for this?

Yes, she is a woman. Mrs Twocities always says "I may make mistakes, but I'm never wrong"....

Hehe, I actually meant is there any reason why I can't run the mains cable alongside (and yes it probably will touch as the hole isn't that big.) I'm thinking it might be difficult even to run the cable through a conduit. Balls.
