Got a new (10 year old house), at the back of the house, i have two white pipes that protude out just below the roof and above the windows - basically on the white trim bit that is underneath the roof.

I have no idea what these pipes do !...but i have just noticed that one of them, the right-hand side one is leaking.. It was coming out quite fast before, but now its almost stopped !

All the other houses in my area have these pipes, but mine is the only one that is leaking

What are these pipes for and is the dripping water serious ?

Oh and how do i fix it.

Thanks for any help

Best to get a Plumber in to fit a new float valve...ask for cost over the phone  The parts should be round a tenner.so most £will be callout.

if u dont know what an over flow pipe is then ur not gona fix it so ask everybody u know until u get a plumber by recomendation to fix it, it shouldnt be anything to worry about just the sign to get somthing done. £30-40 job tops.

Bet someone flushed the toilet. Float opperated valves don't usually fix themselves.

its gona be the ballvalve in the f/e cistern 4 domestic hot water & now u hav run a hot tap it wont overflow untill the mornin when its had time to drip enough over night. Wouldn't expect it to be a toilet with the overflow at gutter hight unless u hav a bungalow with upstairs bathroom.

Or maybe the toilet was fed from the storage cistern and flushing it resulted in a loss of 9 ltrs. Because lots of house still have cistern fed toilets.

Well it seems to have stopped completly, ive had a bucket on the ground underneath the overflow pipes and nothing have dripped into it......weird

Thats becuase our combined psychic powers were brought to bear upon your house
