there is a wooden panel alongside my bath. its held in place with screws, some of which have rusted the heads. how do i get the last remaining screws off when the heads themselves have almost rotted away?
Scrape the head grooves out with a small sharp screwdriver so that you big screwdriver gets in deeper. Sometimes it's easier to tighten a fraction to break the rust bond, then unscrew them.
All depends on how badly gone they are. You can get bits to dig in and unscrew them if you have a drill with reverse gear. Or worst comes to worst, you can always drill them out.
i usualy try screwdriver abuse... use a larger screwdriver and belt it one with a hammer. then try to undo it. otherwise as someone said drill the head off and use mole grips to get the stump out.
