My microwave has recently stopped heating after briefly generating an smell of 'electrical burn' although all other electrical functions still work (light, fan etc...)

After opening up the beast, I found a 15 ohms / 15W ceramic resistor burnt out, all fuses OK. Replaced the resistor, smoked again. No sign of short on the HV transformer, magnetron or capacitor, diode appears OK.

Not an microwave expert, asked Samsung for service manual with no success, not sure what the 15 ohms resistor does....

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Cheers!

Ended up getting my hands on the service manual....

Turned out the power relay was defective, replaced along with the resistor, all working now!
