sash window lock

We have some old windows that have these locks on them and we do not have a key to open them. No previous owner has left the key and we are having a very hard time finding one of these keys so that we might open the windows. We need help finding one of these keys.

The sash window locks i'm thinking of have a barrel section that screws into a receiving end in the other mullion.If this looks familiar to yours then try a small flat screwdriver and keep turning anti-clockwise and it should just unscrew with the right size driver.Good luck.
