So just taking a floorboard up and I've snicked a pipe. Need advice on repairing.

JG push fit connectors?

Socket and a blowlamp, you wont get a pushfit fitting in there without altering the pipes

Why is it that pipes/cables always get hit top dead centre?

Was in the bath one night - 11pm or so. Missus gets a call form her friend in the next village.

Hubby was "nesting" and had decided to hang some shelves.

Out of the 7 foot of wall he had to play with, he managed to hit the 10mm plastic heating pipe square in the middle.

Dined out on that one with them for a few weeks

Take the next section of floorboard off and see if there is a bend or something to give you a bit of movement. Then cut through and put a joint on. You may need to make room by chipping a bit mor out of the joist. Don't set the place on fire if you use a blowlmp.

PS tha's not a nick !!

PPS What you need is a "slip" connector - you can slide it past one way, line the pipes up and slide the connector back over the joint.

Remove other section of floor board cut pipe and slide on Conex Compression Straight Coupler (Burst Pipe Repair),

No need to mess around with a blow lamp then.

Except you have to cut another 1" out off several joists to spread the pipes.

AND it may be GAS

Thanks for your advice everyone.

It's the cold water supply to the sink and bath (and maybe other stuff but didn't really need to investigate further.

I fixed this by spacing the pipes further apart by making the cut in the joists wider across three parts. This gave be enough room to remove a section of the coper pipe and 2 compression couplers.

It's not ideal but there is little 'strain' on the pipes and the boards are back down thanks to a little groove cutting with my router.

A very silly slip caused by complacency.... It wont happen again!

Lee.
