I cant recommend a particular make, but like all tools the more you pay the better the tool.

There are two type; bypass, which are bit like scissors or anvil, which has a single blade that cuts against a small 'anvil'. I prefer the later as the bypass type tend not to be so good on thicker, harder material. The the blades seperate, and the twig gets jammed between them. ;)
 
there is only one make to get Felco. They are swiss made and will last a life time. They can be dismantled to sharpen and service and every bit can be replaced if it ever needs to be. Lots of different models to suit your needs. A bit expensive at about £35 ish but they are the dogs dangly bits
