Hey there,

I’m trying to replace the thermostatic cartridge on my Trevi CTV shower in en-suite - but it seems completely and utterly seized! I’ve had the adjustable spanner on it and it just won’t budge.
I’ve attached a couple of pictures - hopefully someone could share a trick or two to get it moving?

thanks!

Sometimes there’s a grub screw securing the valve to the body. Have a good look around.

Adjustable spanner’s aren’t always the best tool. Which way are you undoing it?

I personally bought a 24mm deep socket, cost me about £9.00 from Amazon did the trick wonderfully.

Absolutely caked in limescale.

After de-scaling it worked as good as new.

Try some penetrating oil and maybe a hot hairdryer on it for 10mins.

Sometimes they come out in bits... Plastic ones usually, so you should be OK with brass.

I have a huge set of knipex grips that'll handle it!
