Shower light switch always on?

I've just replaced the DP ceiling switch after the last one had a blackened connection around the live connection.

The new switch has the red light constantly on. I thought that the light was only supposed to come on when the shower is powered. It seems to work ok i.e. "OFF" the shower is not powered and "ON" the shower is powered.

Any suggestions should I worry?

doh, isn't it obvious . Had my dumb head on for a bit.

have you sorted what caused the blackened connection? Are the cables now in a fit state to carry 30-50A of current?

The cable looks ok it melted a bit of the plastic surrounding the life feed but I think that may have been caused by loosening connections.

The new switch has much better connections.
