What is the difference between negative and positive head?
Is it to do with the location of the cold water tank?

negative and positive head is measured in relation to the cold water pressure...eg if you have mains cold and tank fed hot and the tank is not high enough then the hot water will have negative head in relation to the cold....this is important when pumping as you will need to buy a pump that compensates for this...i fitted a salamander one 360 quid that worked fine
