am fitting a shower pump 1.5bar that will be fed from the gravity hot/cold is it ok to link hot to hand basin that has a mains cold feed or is there a danger of back pressure to the pump,

If it's a mix in the body (single flow) monoblock tap, then there is a chance that there could be an issue. That and if the cold's opened 1st or if the mains pressure is significantly greater.
