Just after some advice for my parents, before electrician arrives.

They have a shower , 6months old, which last night while in the shower tripped out knocking out the RCCB.

The RCCB will re set but as soon as i try to re set the shower MCB , it trips straight away , again taking out the RCCB.

Any ideas? obviously the electrician will sort this out for us but as i wont be there when he comes i just wanted to give my parents an idea so they're not misled.

Not saying i dont trust tradesmen!! I'm one myself , just keeping an eye out for my parents.

    Thanks for any advice...Jon

Can only guess that the cabling, or the switch, or the shower has an earth fault.

Can only be found by detective work on site.

    Thanks for that ,

Electrician came round , started at the switch and found loose earth refixed tested all working fine.

Worth checking the shower unit housing/enclosure, maybe letting in water.

I doubt that. Sounds more like a loose earth to me. Just needs refixing and it will probably then be working fine. :p
