Hi, removed a hive thermostat from a rental property to reinstall the original Siemens wireless thermostat.
I have live, neutral and earth coming from a fused spur, the earth is connected to an earth for the boiler…
I then have a black, brown, grey and green (plus the earth mentioned above) going to the boiler.

Any ideas what goes where?

Thanks!

You need to expose the boiler electrics and take note/picture of where the cable is terminated, then with a picture of the thermostat we can tell you how it's supposed to be wired up. Why are you removing the hive out of interest?

There should be a diagram on the Hive which will identify the terminals.

The N and L give power to the unit. The 1, 2, 3, 4, 1-OT and 2-OT can work the central heating, and it depends if single, double, or triple zones, although I don't think Hive do a triple zone? Showing single zone version. This shows all three.

There are no colours for each connection allocated, other than green/yellow for earth. So need to note what was on the Hive before it is removed.

Siemens do a whole range of thermostats, so again the model matters, some are battery powered, some switch, and some use ebus, so again likely there is some diagram with the thermostat.

So more info required, pictures are good.

The hive came out as they were worried about landlord charging them. Wishing it had been left to be honest!
I’ve attached some more pictures, thank you

Black and grey area your switch wires, but you also need a permanent live and permanent neutral, not sure if these are coming from the spur end. Then it’s a case of L, N, Lx and L1 in the Siemens RCR10
