Simple video editing

Can anyone recommend something free/cheap for really simple editing, such as chopping ends off short bits of video recorded on still cameras, and adding captions?

What do people use for Youtube?!!

nothing judging by what i have seen on you tube.

I use pinacle studio, but TBH i dont know if it works with still cameras taking video, it does work with a video camera

But some one may have another option

what about windows movie maker? (not tried that)

If I put my home pc on 2night, I will tell you what I use.
It was a free d/load & its ok.

XP ... Movie maker is ok for such stuff... M$ freeby

You can add audio to movie, trim, fade etc etc.

Ok Ok OK. WIndows movie maker. Never heard of it but it comes down if you enable updates. SO it's already on my pc. OK OK ok ok ok
