hi,i've just got a property in france that has a slate roof.there is no underfelt. do i need to strip and felt roof? it was built around 1890. the slates are fixed directly onto what looks like floor boards.i will be insulating from inside and was just wanting to make sure the roof was watertight.

There are 1000's roofs with no underfelt, as long as you keep the roof well maintained you will have no problems.
