Hi

the drain takes a down pipe from bath and bathroom sink. Further up (towards main) there is the toilet outlet. The whole lot has been rodded about 6 weeks ago due to a blockage at the time - it all seems clear right now. Part of the stench pipe was replaced about 6 months ago, it was all clear at the time - checked with rods. Over the last couple of days, there is a faint sewerage smell when the loo is flushed.

Please has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

sometimes if a property's foul drainage system, isn't adequately ventilated, then a build up of gasses can occur within the pipes, right back to the traps. when the trap water becomes agitated these smelly gasses can be released.

is the s.v.p. clear?

Thank you for oyur reply. Please, what is s.v.p. ? I'm guessing sewerage vent pipe? If so, it is clear at the top, but I haven't checked further down... is there an easy way of checking?
