I 've tracked down a musty smelly shower room to the "trap" in the new shower tray. Its not an S type trap but a bottle type trap with an insert sleeve. There appears to be plenty of water in it to stop the smell coming through. When the shower is full on there is not a brilliant flow of water down the waste but if I remove the "cap" it flows better. Can't remember having the quite the same problem with the old shallow s bend.
Just cleared out the bottom of the "bottle", which wasn't too bad but is this type of trap more prone to smells if hiar and gunk sit in the bottom or should I just bite the bullet and put another s bed in?
