Socket height

Hi,
Is there a minimum socket height for wall sockets from the floor? I'm having to add in some new sockets around the house.

In an old house you may get away with lower, but 450mm is the minimum in new build. It means that disabled people, as well as the old, stiff or fat, will find them easier to reach than bending down low. You may appreciate that when your back is playing up after your building work!

In any case, they need to be well away from the floor so they do not get banged by hoovers, furniture or your boot (so not at skirting level).
