I have added a ensuite to my house. The soil stack is on the exterior of the property and I need to connect into my sewer system. The easiest place for me to join is about 8 feet to the right of the bottom of the soil stack. I want to run the waste under ground to join into the existing sewer. How deep underground will the building inspector want the connecting pipe to go?

Why not phone him and ask.
He will have to inspect it anyway and do not forget the slow bends at the base of where you will be connecting it to. :D

I will call him I guess I though I might be able to get a head start if he is difficult to speak to.

ensuite on ground floor or first floor ?

why not tee into existing soil stack.

depth of any new underground drain is dictated by the depth of the existing drains to a large degree, obviously.
