Hi,
I have an extension on the back of the house and the original soil and vent pipe terminates inside the roof space. It appears to be capped with some sort of valve[?] arrangement.
Does anyone have any experience of these, I thought they always had to terminate a certain distance above eaves height
Thnaks,

i would guess the valve is an air admittance valve (Durgo).

You should have another normal SVP on the property to give ventilation of the drain.

Yep, I installed one of these in my roof space and my brother-in-law's roof space.

They are great - no smell, and saves having to go out of the roof.

hi, Thanks for the info, but I do not have another vent pipe anywhere....

Is this desirable or mandatory.....
