In a stud wall which is the best for sound insulation 100mm rockwool on a roll or two layers of 50mm rockwool slab.

Thanks

Rockwool Flexi (which is a slab) is more dense than ordinary mineral wools and is designed for its superior sound attenuation. Thermal insulation wools are lighter.

neither, you will still be able to hear someone fart in the bathroom!

i would say whichever is the densest.

probably.

Thanks for your replys. The reason i ask is because i am putting a en-suite toilet in a bedroom and the building inspector wants insulation in the wall adjoining the next bedroom. Was going to put two layers of 50mm slab and then two layers of soundbloc plasterboard.

Thanks
