  :?:

We are buying a property in Spain and wondered if anyone had any experience or idea of suitable plants and times for planting. It would also be helpful to know of any good books on the subject which might help.

I think you'll find that Spain is rather a large place and there's a big climate difference between north and south. Decide exactly where you are buying the property before committing yourself to any particular plants. Also, take a look at the neighbours' gardens to see what does well (apart from vines and bananas! )

Note: Spain is generally hotter than southern England.

;)

We are in the Costa Blanca region of Spain. It is difficult to look at any of the neighbours as it is a building site at the moment. We have looked in gardens around the area, but would love any information on suitable plants.
