speakers needed for kitchen

i have 2 ceiling speakers in the kitchen, i also need 2 bookshelf type speakers to go into a vaulted ceiling with a skylight. i can have 'inwall' as there is insulation in the wall. ive been looking at the Bose 161 speakers as they look good but they seem a bit overpriced. can anyone recommend an alternative. i need the speakers to be pretty small, kick out half decent base and cost up to £200. colour wise - anything light. or do you think if would be possible to spray/paint them? they will be mounted approx 13 foot high.
