My stairs are enclosed and inaccesible from underneath but a couple of treads are partly unsupported at the wall side. The clay lump wall is also crumbling at the edge - any ideas apart from demolition?
Really one of those earth walls? If it is crumbling is that because you have prevented the damp that these walls need by use of impervious paints?
No reason with a normal brick wall that you could not support above step by a metal clip or decorative wood edging.
