just wondering whats the best way to bring in new business at the moment, read a few things about contacting local lettings agents etc...,
flyers,cards in windows etc....

Any advice really appreciated.

Maybe get on the Dulux dec. service :? or whatever they call it - basically tie up with someone like that . Unfortunately the recommend a trade type sites seem to be getting a bad press because you can self certify. Also get on a specialised course, if you can afford it - coving , paint effects etc. Big ++ is get a magnetic sign for your van - it covered its cost on 1 job for my boy (plasterer) And if you have no work @ all get that van out and park near the poshest school during the school run , like you`re doing a job @ a big house . Seriously . That job he got was in a posh commuter village ( coincidently it used to be a poor working class village where his Great Grandfather lived  ) spooky
